Webinars to help businesses with their Queen’s Award for Enterprise applications

Businesses are being asked if they have ever thought about the Queen’s Award for Enterprise for their business? Winning one of these prestigious awards would give businesses national and international recognition.

Lord Lieutenant, Ed Anderson, Lord Lieutenant of North Yorkshire, Mrs Jo Ropner and Chambers of Commerce are this year holding two guidance webinars to help you with your application.

On 10 June, a webinar hosted by the West and North Yorkshire Chamber of Commerce, and compeared by Jon Hammond, will cover applications for the International Trade and Innovation categories. A second event on 23 June will assist those looking to submit applications in the Promoting Opportunity or Sustainability categories.

At both of these events, businesses will hear from business people who have successfully gained the award in the given category, and there will be the opportunity to ask questions. In 2020, these webinars increased the number of applications from West Yorkshire and the Lord Lieutenants are keen to see more businesses benefit from the awards which are the most prestigious business awards in the UK.

The awards celebrate the success of business in four categories – innovation, international trade, promoting social mobility and sustainability.

Winners can fly the Queen’s Award flag with pride, and the emblem can be used on company marketing materials giving business the recognition it deserves.

Sandy Needham DL, Chief Executive, West and North Yorkshire Chamber of Commerce, said, “The West and North Yorkshire Chamber and Mid Yorkshire Chamber are delighted to be working with the Lord Lieutenant, Ed Anderson and  Lord Lieutenant of North Yorkshire, Mrs Joanna Ropner, to promote these prestigious awards. These awards give great recognition both national and international, and I encourage our members and other businesses to apply.”
