Manufacturers connect to the workforce of tomorrow

West & North Yorkshire Chamber of Commerce is calling on the region’s manufacturers to sign up to an event to connect them to the workforce of tomorrow.

Bradford Manufacturing Weeks returns from October 9 to October 20 to give young people across the region the opportunity to discover the exciting and wide-ranging careers that the sector has to offer.

Thousands of students from across the Bradford district are signed up to be involved and the Chamber is now looking for manufacturing businesses to sign up to the scheme.

Now in operation for five years, Bradford Manufacturing Weeks has successful connected dozens of the region’s leading manufacturers to new generations of talent, with more than 15,000 young people given experiences of what it is like to work in the sector.

The Chamber is convening a series of events across the district at some of the best manufacturers in the region, both online and in person, on everything from apprenticeships to women in manufacturing to skills. Details can be found by visiting Bradford Manufacturing Weeks Events.

Mark Cowgill, president elect of West & North Yorkshire Chamber of Commerce, said: “Bradford has one of the finest manufacturing sectors in the country and Bradford Manufacturing Weeks has done so much good work in giving it new blood.

“Manufacturing can give you a well-paid, secure and incredibly interesting career that can take your work across the planet.”

Sponsors for 2023 are Bradford Council, the University of Bradford, Leeds City Region Enterprise Partnership, Natwest, Azets and the University of Bradford.
