Rail upgrades due, more disruption on the way

Earlier in September 2020, Network Rail announced a programme of works to deliver improved services on the East Coast Main Line. Unfortunately for passengers, there will be disruption to existing services while that work is carried out.

Between 1 March and 4 June 2021, there will be temporary closure of individual tracks and platforms at King’s Cross, with other partial closures at various points on the rail network, including at Christmas and weekends of 26-28 February and 5-6 June.

Passengers are advised to check relevant websites before travelling, and the latest information from Network Rail is available here.

Network Rail say the upgrade will deliver improved reliability and punctuality, and help ensure increasing passenger volumes can be met.
