Chamber supports York Restaurant Week

West and North Yorkshire Chamber supporting York BID’s York Restaurant Week

West & North Yorkshire Chamber is proud to be a supporter of York Restaurant Week.

Now in its ninth year of operation, it will take place from March 11 to 17 at venues all over the city.

York Restaurant Week is a biannual event delivered by York BID and is aimed at stimulating the local economy during the typically quieter times of year for hospitality businesses.

More than 100 businesses are set to be involved, making it one of the largest of its kind in the country.

York Restaurant Week encourages people to visit the city centre as a whole and utilise its shops and entertainment venues, as well as promote its diverse array of eateries.

Since its inception, York Restaurant Week has added over £1.1 million of spend to the local economy. The last event held in October 2023 attracted 12,859 diners and generated more than £238,200 in revenue for participating businesses.

The event also boosts local tourism in the area. A customer survey carried out about York Restaurant Week at the end of 2023 revealed that 80 percent of the 1,255 respondents lived within the York area.

Andrew Pericleous, chair of the Chamber’s Hospitality Forum said: “York Restaurant Week gives visitors and locals alike a great chance to try somewhere new, or an excuse to visit an old favourite again.

“I wish it every success for 2024.”

Ninety-three per cent of participating businesses said that the 2023 event helped them see new customers, and we hope that the York BID see similar trends in 2024
