Apprenticeship Week welcomed by Chamber

Support for National Apprenticeship Week

West & North Yorkshire Chamber of Commerce is supporting the Government’s initiative to increase the creation and take-up of apprentices in the workplace.  This week (8-14 February 2021) sees a full week of national activities and events to raise awareness and celebrate.

Mark Goldstone, Head of Policy at the Chamber, said:

“West & North Yorkshire Chamber of Commerce once again welcomes the promotion and celebration of apprenticeships.  The week is a good opportunity to highlight the range of opportunities on offer, and demonstrate how apprenticeships benefit individuals, businesses and communities.  It’s also a good chance for employers to showcase the great work that they are doing to support and develop the future’s workforce.

“This year’s theme – ‘Build the Future’ seems apposite, given Covid’s disruption to society and effect on the nation’s health and economy over the last 12 months.  It’s therefore just as important, if not more so, that National Apprenticeship Week acts as a springboard to help future-proof our workforce and boost career prospects in these difficult times.  Apprenticeships are now available in many different occupations and sectors, and there are around 7,000 currently available.
