Chamber announces new chair of the board

West & North Yorkshire Chamber of Commerce today announces Victoria Wainwright as its new chair.

Victoria, a former president of Bradford Chamber of Commerce, will takeover from outgoing chair Amanda Beresford, who is stepping down from the board after 9 years, five of which as its chair.

Amanda, herself a former president of the Leeds Chamber of Commerce, said: “I look back on my time with the Chamber with great fondness.

“The Chamber is growing and perusing exciting avenues and opportunities.

“I want to thank all of our members for their support during my time here.

“I am very proud to be handing over to Victoria Wainwright who will doubtless prove a tremendous success in her new role.”

Victoria said: “It is a great honour to take on the role of chair of the Chamber’s board.

“I look forward hugely to serving the Chamber’s members in my new capacity.

“In particular I pay tribute to Amanda who has been a first-class servant of Yorkshire’s business community.”

James Mason, chief executive of West & North Yorkshire Chamber, said: “Amanda has been a tireless advocate and champion of the Chamber’s members and she steps down with our eternal gratitude and thanks for her efforts.

“Victoria will unquestionably be a superb new chair for the Chamber as we continue to grow our membership and champion the region’s business community.”
